Product details
Purpose and intended use
The Qufora Bed system is a ‘closed’ irrigation system especially for patients who are unable to sit on an ordinary toilet and therefore need their bowel management to be carried out on the bed. The system flows the water into the rectum. The return water is collected hygienically and odour free in the collection bag.
Expected outcome and duration
Using the system for 30 to 45 minutes, you can achieve minimum 24 hours of continence. The single-use system has a number of unique features and for the first time allows rectal irrigation to be carried out in a hygienic, odour-free way on the patient’s bed.
How the system works
The water bag is hung up and a hand pump with easy-to-use valve is supplied. Water is then instilled into the rectum via the cone, which is easily inserted and removed. The process takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes.

How it works
Qufora IrriSedo Bed irrigates simply using warm water via a rectal catheter, which is attached to the water bag and a collection bag.
1. Fill the water bag
Fill the water bag with lukewarm water.
2. Connect the parts
Attach the catheter to the tube and the collection bag. The collection bag contains an integrated plug that fits into the catheter.
3. Instill water to the rectum
Water from the water bag is guided into the rectum by the catheter. With the collection bag fitted to the catheter, the plug ensures that the water stays in the rectum.
4. Remove the plug
When the water has had time to work in the bowel, the plug is pulled out of the catheter. Water and faecal matter will flush into the collection bag.
This process can be repeated until the desired amount of water has been instilled and removed without having to remove the catheter.
Before use, always consult the ‘Instructions for use’ document delivered with the product.
