Sustainability at Qufora
At Qufora, sustainability is not a separate agenda – it is embedded in our mission: improving health for people and planet through intuitive, life-changing bowel management solutions. We recognise our responsibility to develop solutions that are not only effective and safe, but also respectful of people, resources, and the environment.
A key milestone in further integrating sustainability into our core business was conducting a double materiality assessment (DMA). This assessment identifies the topics that matter most – where Qufora impacts people and the environment, and where societal, stakeholder, and environmental factors impact Qufora. This strategic approach enables us to focus our efforts where they create the greatest impact for our stakeholders and strengthen our long-term business performance.
Double materiality assessment
We conducted a Double Materiality Assessment to identify the sustainability topics that matter most to Qufora and our stakeholders. Aligned with the EU Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs, the process examined both our impact on people and the environment, and how ESG factors influence our business performance. Through cross-functional collaboration and expert input, we created a clear materiality map that guides our ESG priorities, strengthens risk management, and embeds sustainability into our core business decisions.
Our approach to sustainability
Sustainability is a core part of our mission to improve health for people and planet through intuitive, life-changing bowel management solutions.
Anchored in our partner-oriented mindset, we embrace co-creation and collaboration across all levels – working closely with our majority partner, leading Nordic healthcare investor Impilo, who shares our commitment to structured ESG governance and long-term value creation.
As part of Impilo’s portfolio, we align with their sustainability approach, grounded in the principle that businesses must contribute to sustainable development in the societies and markets where they operate. This framework strengthens our commitment to lasting impact. Impilo’s Sustainability Handbook outlines this approach in detail.
Sustainability means creating value for people, society, and the planet. We focus on four key areas that reflect where we can make the greatest impact.
Improving well-being for people with bowel dysfunction
We help people with bowel dysfunction live fuller, more confident lives through simple, functional and aesthetic solutions, and provide easy-to-use support, customised to individual needs. Through user-driven innovation and co-developing activities with clinicians, we continuously refine our solutions to better serve diverse patient populations.
Diversity, equity and inclusion
We believe diversity fuels innovation and strengthens our organisation. We are formalising our DEI approach to ensure inclusion remains embedded in how we work — today and in the future.
Our employees
Our people are the foundation of Qufora. Our workplace is rooted in trust, transparency and care – where inclusiveness, creativity, openness and collaboration thrive. With a flat structure and culture of dialogue, we aim to provide an inspiring environment where everyone is valued and heard.
Our environmental footprint
We focus on our environmental footprint by applying CO₂ accounting to guide our path towards reducing emissions associated with the production, transportation and distribution of our products. We embed circularity principals and EcoDesign into the product design process for more efficient choice and use of materials and resources.
Areas of focus
We focus on four key areas where we can make the greatest impact: improving well-being for people with bowel dysfunction, diversity, equity and inclusion, our employees, and our environmental footprint.
